I wanna get into SAP

Okay so everybody's running for SAP... Most of people want to learn it to get a nice paying job and all that. And people say its in DEMAND. But is that enough to start jumping on the SAP Learner's Bandwagon.
Hmmm So what do we know about SAP (and people please its not Sap its SAP). Ask a common aspirant and he will proudly tell you its an ERP and.. it has good "scope".
So should we just go for it... Logically I would say we ought to know more.

To tell you the truth I am also not that old into SAP but yes I know that less than 50 % of the people who start learning it really end up learning it and out of that 20% get a job.

So you would say .. here comes another Doom sayer.. But no I think not the main problem here is that we generally belong to some non IT field and want to go into IT field or say Techno functional field. So here we already have a job and have something to fall back on. So generally what happens is when the going starts getting tough most of us just find it easy to revert back to our present/old jobs, maybe at the learning stage or the job search stage. Hence the low percentage.

Does that mean that we should not try.. Man you never achieve anything without trying . But make a sound, educated decision and be prepared to invest time, efforts and Money(Yes SAP doesnt come cheap, not even the the SAP Packages. Just ask the companies who want to get SAP installed).

To give you my word.. For any person from any field with a technical bent of mind and with eagerness to learn, SAP is the best thing that he or she can get into. Its so vast and dynamic field that you can never get bored from it. Infact when it catches you it will catch you big time.
